What ages do you teach?
Our Junior classes are suitable for ages 8+. Teens can train with the juniors or adults, depending on their individual size and skill level.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes, we offer a week long no strings attached free trial. Click here to book your free trial week pass.
What should we bring?
First your first class, your children should wear normal exercise clothes (t-shirt and shorts or leggings) and bring a full bottle of water.
What are the benefits of Brazilian jiu-jitsu?
- BJJ is a unique martial art that focuses on ground grappling techniques
- Strikes are not permitted and an emphasis is placed on controlling your opponent, never harming them
- It is a competitive sport, as well as being one of the most effective martial arts for self-defence and anti-bullying
- Children are able to practice sparring as a regular part of classes, challenging them both physically and mentally in a safe and supportive environment
- They will build confidence, discipline and respect that will stay with them for life
- For these reasons, we believe BJJ is uniquely suited to children, helping them grow into strong and confident young adults
Our experience
Coach Wes has been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu since 2015 and is a dedicated instructor with a passion for teaching children. Prior to starting Frontier, he was the head instructor of adults and children's classes at Gracie Barra Salisbury, teaching Brazilian jiu-jitsu to students as young as 3 years old.
Wes is committed to maintaining the highest standards of child protection and safety. He is certified in First Aid, Child Safeguarding and has completed Enhanced DBS checks.

- Teens welcome to adults or juniors classes, depending on their individual size and skill level
- Gi /No-gi refers to whether a uniform is worn or not. Just wear normal gym clothes during the free trial period and we will provide the uniform
